GlowThrow Ball Launcher for Dogs

The GlowThrow promises to revolutionise the game of fetch allowing you to play with your dog in low-light conditions and even at night!

If you live a hectic life and get home at dusk or much later, you know how hard it is to give your dog some good exercise! The GlowThrow is perfect for those dog owners who get home after dark and also people who happen to live in areas that get far less natural sunlight during the day, especially in winter!

WHAT IS THE INSPIRATION BEHIND THE GLOWTHROW?

A 12-month labour of love has seen the GlowThrow developed and tested by Lachlan Scott, a pet-centric lighting industry professional whose 7-year-old Whippet named "Chicken" simply loves night time walks!

Lachlan Scott is an industrial lighting expert who has worked as the Project Development Engineer and Sales Manager for a global lighting industry giant recording annual sales of A$8.98 billion.

“I worked very long hours and there can be so much emotion wrapped up in this as a dog owner. I felt so guilty working late. Our Whippet really has a way of tugging at your heart strings. I think it must be the same for every pet owner who also finds themselves in our situation,” expressed Lachlan Scott, the Director of GlowThrow. “

No matter how late my girlfriend or I get back home, the GlowThrow now allows us to get the most out of our walks! This has helped nurture the bond we have with our dog who feels so much like a part of the family. I guess a lot of people will be able to relate to our story.”

WHAT ARE THE GLOWTHROW MAIN FEATURES?

GlowThrow is designed with your dog's overall wellbeing and safety in mind.

It features a powerful inbuilt LED to charge the glow-in-the-dark ball whereby the LED and battery are located within the launcher rather than the ball. This eliminates the risk of dogs accidentally eating the electronics while playing fetch!

What's more, the unique design allows for a sustainable bright glow experience during every walk as the LED charges the Phosphor.

  • Super bright glow-in-the-dark ball for maximum visibility
  • High-powered LED light built neatly into the head of the launcher
  • LED light doubles as an illuminating torch when not charging the glow-in-the-dark ball.
  • A fortnight of daily night time dog walks from a fully charged rechargeable battery (1200m Ah Li-Ion)
  • Micro USB charger port to charge the battery
  • Exceptional ergonomic handle with over moulded rubber for secure grip comfort
  • Flexible neck for long throws
  • Fully sealed the launcher is cleanable under water

Potty Plant - Easy Dog Toilet Training

Potty Plant has recently launched in Australia and is making toilet training a breeze for dog owners who live in apartments.

Let’s face it, wee and poo management is the least fun part of owning a dog. Whether your fur baby is a puppy or an adult dog, it is safe to say that there will be plenty of accidents to clean up. The obvious way to avoid having these ‘accidents’ is toilet training from the moment you bring them into your home.

If you live in an apartment with no easy outdoor access, potty training is a little trickier being in such a confined space. Training pups and dogs to toilet on synthetic surfaces such as fake grass and puppy pads goes against nature and what dogs instinctively know.

How does it work?

Potty Plant works with nature bringing real grass into apartment living. The 100% real grass roots absorb the pee before it has a chance to decompose and smell.

The Potty Plant Starter Pack comes with everything you need to get your dog started.

Once your grass needs replacing, simply jump online and sign up to a weekly/fortnightly or monthly grass replacement plan. Potty Plant is lined with a compostable liner to keep it clean between deliveries. When your new grass arrives, throw the old one out and place the new one in the Potty Plant.

It is designed with a protective frame surrounding the grass to stops naughty puppies from pulling the grass mat out, a problem many dog owners face when using puppy pads and fake grass.

It comes with a matching drip tray that sits underneath the Potty Plant and collects excess water from rain or over watering your grass. It can also be used to cover your Potty Plant in heavy rain.

It makes a stylish addition to your balcony or home. It comes in sleek white which makes for a stunning contrast against the green grass.

Benefits of Potty Plant

  • Grass roots absorb the pee so no more pee stench and no more cleaning everyday.
  • Choose from hydroponic soil-free grass or park grass.
  • 100% natural and compostable - so no more landfill guilt.
  • Protective frame protects it from naughty puppies that love to dig and rip things.
  • Convenient: delivered weekly, fortnightly or monthly

Tips to transition to the Potty Plant

Most dogs use the Potty Plant within 10 minutes of receiving it! For puppies still undergoing toilet training, you can soak up a little bit of their pee with a tissue and dab it on the Potty Plant. Dogs claim things by peeing on them, so it won't be long before they re-claim it after they smell their own pee on it.

Be sure to always praise your pup when he/she pees in the correct spot. It’s all about positive reinforcement and associating toilet time with praise and reward.

Hounds of Distinction - Leads & Collars

Hounds of Distinction specialise in the creation of quality hand-made leather collars and leads, that are are a blend of function, style and timeless beauty.

Whether your dog is small, big or in-between, they offer a range of collars and leads suitable for all dog breeds.

In 2015 Julia and Rob welcomed
their new Curly Coated Retriever, Ranger into their home, and embarked on a search to find a lead that was comfortable to hold and a matching collar that would suit their dog but also look stylish.

Wanting to purchase an Australian-made product that was made from a natural fibre or material, nothing caught their eye, so they decided to come up with their own collar and lead, designed specifically for Ranger and Hounds of Distinction was born.

All collars and leads are hand-crafted in rural Victoria using quality leather and fittings.  'The Ranger' is the latest collection which was first hand-cut, then artisan-crafted from Italian leather.

'The Ranger' collection currently features two styles of collars. You can select from 'The Ranger' collar,
made from plaited Italian leather collar with silver tone finishings, or 'The Whitby' collar which features 'the bushman's knot'.

Both collars are made in a variety of sizes, ranging from XS to XXL.

Matching leads are available in two standard lengths (0.5m and 1m), but for those dog owners wanting a slightly longer lead, Hounds of Distinction can offer a 1.4m lead as part of their "tailoring" service.

RSPCA Animal Health - Allwormer & Heartwormer

RSPCA Animal Health Hearwormer & Allwormer
Australian dog lovers can now be "Twice the Pet Hero" with the first two products in the RSPCA Animal Health Products range released to the market this month by the RSPCA and IndyVet Animal Health Products.

The first two products released in the range are RSPCA Allwormer (for Cats and Dogs) and RSPCA Heartwormer (for Dogs).

"The RSPCA is delighted to be working with IndyVet to bring this range of products to Australian pet owners." said Heather Neil, RSPCA Australia CEO.

A portion of revenue from the sale of the RSPCA Animal Health Products supports the valuable work of the RSPCA. By choosing them, Australian pet owners can be "Twice the Pet Hero", protecting their own pets from nasty parasites and supporting the ongoing work of the RSPCA.

IndyVet reports that initial consumer demand for the product has been strong. With the strength of the RSPCA brand, it's hardly surprising, advises Dr Mark Perissinotto, IndyVet CEO and Chief Veterinary Officer.

According to research by the Guardian released last month, the RSPCA is the most influential animal welfare organisation in Australia. Perhaps to be expected when you remember that, in the Reader’s Digest Most Trusted Survey, the RSPCA has been voted Australia's second most trusted Charity for multiple years running and has ranked highest for any animal welfare organisation.

"We're incredibly aware of the trust Australian pet owners put in the RSPCA" Dr Perissinotto said. "All involved have worked hard to ensure that the safety, quality and effectiveness of the RSPCA Animal Health Products are comparable to the leading brands in the market while also giving Australian pet owners an affordable and accessible option for regular parasite prevention".

Skippy Pop Multifunction Dog Treat - Barking Obito

Barking Obito Skippy Pop Dog Treats with Kangaroo Meat
It  took Barking Obito over a year to perfect it but Skippy Pop – Australia’s first multifunction dog treat is finally here.

Showing their ongoing commitment to providing only the best quality functional dog treats, Barking Obito have sourced Australian grown Turmeric and only use export quality Kangaroo meat (no cheaper offcut pet grade meat). They also tested the efficacy of this mix (post processing) to ensure it retains most of the nutrients.

They do all this because like us they are an obsessed dog lover and understand that you only want to give your furbabies the best quality treats.

Barking Obito Skippy Pop dog treats frozen as green icy hearts
Skippy Pop dog treats come as a powder and can be added to homemade dough to make nutritional treats.

You could also use this powder as a topping for dog biscuits after you baked your treats.

It can be served frozen as an icy summer treat or as a warm broth on cold winter days.

Skippy Pop treats have a shelf life of 3 years and this is achieved by using gentle technology, that removes as much moisture as possible without using artificial preservatives.

Ingredients:

  • Dehydrated Kangaroo: hypoallergenic, low fat protein source perfect for a dog with a sensitive tummy.
  • Blueberries: full of antioxidants, this ingredient fights off pesky free radicals, improves cognitive function, helps control blood sugar level, improves cardiovascular health
  • Turmeric: bursting with antibacterial and antioxidant properties, it is great for maintaining a healthy heart and liver as well as relieving allergies.
  • Pumpkin: its natural water absorbing properties make it perfect for the pooch experiencing occasional tummy problems. It's also great for keeping your furry sidekick feeling full for longer.
The nutritional analysis is impressive with 72% protein, 3.8% fat, 4.7% ash plus crude fibre and moisture.

How to prepare Skippy Pop for your furbaby:
  • Mix 1 sachet with 1 cup of water, pour into silicone mould of your choice and freeze
  • Mix 1 sachet with 1 cup of warm water. Perfect winter treats for your pooch.
  • If your dog is a fussy eater you can sprinkle some of the Skippy powder on top of your dog's food to improve his appetite.
  • Add Skippy Pop powder into your homemade dough to make nutritional treats or add the powder as dog biscuits topping after you bake your treats.

Serving Guidelines:

  • Under 15 kg = 1/4 sachet
  • 15-30 kg = 1/2 sachet
  • Over 30 kg = 1 sachet

User Advice:

We think these wheat-free dog treats are pretty awesome, but they are by no means complete or balanced, therefore they should not be used as the primary source of calories nor should they be used as medication.

Please always take the time to peruse the full list of ingredients to ensure your dogs are not allergic to any of them. We recommend to limit your pooch treats intake to less than 10% of their daily calories to keep their waist slim and sexy.
