Sweet Goodbye - Pet Farewell Kits

Sweet Goodbye is launching a range of unique biodegradable and transportable pet burial and farewell kits at the 2017 Perth Royal Show.

Founders Natalie Venosi and partner David Pidek combined their unconditional love of dogs and experience of losing furry best friends with a philanthropic passion for helping the disadvantaged and vulnerable. Natalie is a Civil Marriage Celebrant and Executive Director of Pindari WA, a successful Pilbara Aboriginal business, based in Dunsborough.

She has consulted with a number Veterinary associates and pet owners in the development and trials of these unique, fit for purpose products. “Veterinary staff benefit from offering a more compassionate and functional range of ‘tools’ that can help with the transition and ultimately ease some of the distress and pain for everyone involved” comments Natalie.

“A vet’s care and guidance during this difficult time is invaluable and the key is being prepared for when that time comes, a little bit of discomfort now can remove a whole lot of discomfort later.” She adds that “having a Sweet Goodbye Kit tucked away in the cupboard has given me peace of mind and a calming sense of purpose and focus when that unbearable time arrives.”

Designed for preparing beloved pets for home burial or cremation and creating a special memorial, the Sweet Goodbye range helps pet owners honour their pet’s earthly life with the utmost respect and appreciation.
Whatever an individual’s personal or religious beliefs the process of lovingly preparing the pet for cremation or burial is a true act of kindness.

Understanding that pets and their owners are all individuals, Sweet Goodbye developed these one-of-a kind products in a range of colours and sizes to suit most household pets from mice and guinea pigs, to rabbits and reptiles to cats and extra-large dogs.

Sweet Goodbye sources handmade wool felt from a Fair Trade certified supplier in earthquake damaged Kathmandu, which is individually hand crafted into the unique “Cloud” (for smaller pets) and “Cocoon” flagship range through a rural family business development initiative in Bali.

In addition to assisting these communities, the venture’s ultimate “greater good” goal is to raise funds for animal welfare and a minimum of 5% profits is committed to supporting organisations including Animals Asia and The Orangutan Project (TOP), both long term recipients of Natalie and David’s support.

The range is highly adjustable for easy sizing and includes secure functionality such as strong carrying cradles to easily lift and transport of pets from 10kg up to 90kg+.

The “Cocoon” and “Cloud” Kits, have been encouraged and applauded by the veterinary industry and associated services, including Murdoch University Animal Hospital.
