Dachshunds in Paradise Halloweiner - Oct 29

Dachshunds in Paradise is hosting its biggest and spookiest event “Halloweiner” on Sunday 29th October 2017 in Mudgeeraba (Gold Coast).

This amazing fundraising event - supported by Gold Coast City Council – will commence at 9:00am and feature hundreds of Dachshunds in costume, raising money for sick and disabled animals. They will also attempt the Australian record of the most number of Dachshunds at a meet up (to our knowledge, the record stands at 154).

This event will include a huge raffle plus insta-famous pups, food trucks, market stalls, dog games, dog beauty services, and 'Best Dressed Dog and Human' competitions.

Whether you own a Dachshund or just love them, you are invited!

Dachshunds in Paradise is a Gold Coast and Tweed region based non-profit organization established in 2011.
They organise regular meet-up events (4 to 6 times per year) not only to socialise their beloved Dachshunds but also to raise money and awareness for chosen charities.

The money raised at each of the events will be used to support their chosen charity: Storybook Farm – Sacred Animal Garden, both a sanctuary for disabled and special needs animals plus an educational farm.

The Dachshund community relies very heavily on Storybook Farm, as they offer an 8-week rehabilitation program designed especially for dogs recovering from Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD) which affects 1 in 4 Dachshunds. This program is called “Paws & Recover”. They also offer holiday and emergency boarding.

All funds raised from this event will go towards the care for the many permanently disabled Dachshunds and other special needs animals that live at the sanctuary.

When: Sunday 29th October 2017, from 9:00am

Where: Hinterland Regional Park, 32 Hardys Rd
Mudgeeraba, QLD, 4213, Australia

Super Furry Festival 2017 - October 14

Super Furry Festival 2016 - Dachshund wearing pink Puppia harness licks man's face

The Super Furry Festival returns for the fourth time on October 14th to bring the most anticipated animal party to Surry Hills.

With the simple mantra to create the largest celebration between animals and humans in Sydney, the festival not only encourages all animal lovers to spend quality time with their furry best friends, but has organised fun and quirky activities to support the adoption of animals all year round.

Proudly supported by PETstock, Super Furry creators Jess Zeltner and Courtney Meyer are excited to enlighten Sydneysiders about rehoming displaced animals. “Every year we want to educate the community about the importance of adoption. We feel that so many animals are overlooked as they are not of a certain breed or appearance. Adopted animals have so much love to give and they usually end up rescuing you in more ways than one” explains Jess.
