For a donation at the gate, you can enter your furry companion into the hilariously quirky Newtown Festival Dog Show. This year’s theme is ‘Newtopia’, and there’s a range of competitions, including:
MOST DISADVANTAGED - Has your dog got three legs? Missing an eye? Or have a savage cat to contend with? Here at ‘Newtopia’ all dogs and humans are treated equal!
AGILITY: STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN – Can your pooch dodge ecological, economical, religious and scientific pitfalls all the way to Utopia?
PICK UP POO - Two contestants, owner and dog, run against the clock to pick up the most poos in less than 30 seconds!
Other competitions include a small, medium, large and open doggie dash where all entrants will receive a prize.
Lastly, if you think your tail-wagger is the most intelligent, beautiful, elegant or just different, than the ‘Champion Newtopian’ is for you. Other entertainment across the festival will showcase the best live music and performers, sustainable and delicious food stalls. Local writers and artists’ talent, and workshops for the kids too.
All funds raised by your generous note or gold coin donations at the gate will go towards the NNC programs and services for the local community.
