Outback Tails New Pet Range Features Indigenous Design

Outback Tails has launched a unique range of pet accessories, showcasing the artwork of talented Australian indigenous artists.

Designs by Pauline Napangardi Gallagher from the Warlukurlangu Artist Co-op in the Northern Territory will be featured on items such as stylish canvas dog beds, ceramic bowls and luxurious leather collars and leads
Pauline loves colour and uses an unrestricted palette to develop a modern interpretation of her traditional Aboriginal culture. Pauline's paintings are available to purchase from www.warlu.com.au

Outback Tails founder Jessica Knight says she was inspired by her passion and love of animals combined with an appreciation of Australian design, indigenous art and native Australian ingredients.

"I wanted to create a uniquely Australian range of pet accessories that showcased contemporary Australian design, art and craft without the clichés," she explains.

"I originally came up with the concept when I was asked to create a range of 'Aussie themed' pet products for the US market but the idea of stuffed koala dog toys and dog beds printed with typical Australian icons really didn't excite me. That’s when I decided to do things a bit differently and the Outback Tails concept was born."

A percentage of the sales proceeds will go back into Gallagher’s community.
